Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez! It was for the ‘Farm’ box on the Ripped Bodice’s book bingo card, and I double dipped and used it for the Seattle Public Library’s ‘Older Protagonist’ box. I liked it a lot more than I thought I was going to, and it fast tracked the un-ruining of The Princess Bride for me (thanks, ex-who-must-not-be-named)!
I just finished Stay Gold by Tobly McSmith! A YA romance about a young trans man who wants to not be known as trans at his new Texas school but also struggles with if not telling the girl he likes that he is trans is lying to her. I liked the book, but I’m also unsure if I agree with some of the book and how it feels about what obligation trans people have (or don’t have) to be put publicly, but I enjoyed reading it!
Yeah there isn't a black and white correct answer to things like that (not just about trans-ness, but so many other things) so it can be uncomfortable to read something that stakes a major claim. Will have to add it to the list when I'm in the mood for YA! (I've got a YA roundup coming in the next few weeks FYI)

Yeah, it rides a weird line, and I feel like maybe it does it both ways?
Hell yeah! If you want some more YA recs I’ve got a bunch
I just finished Scandal in Babylon by Barbara Hambly, a historical mystery set in the movie industry in 1920’s Hollywood. It was a fun read.
Ooo Hollywood AND mystery! Sold, checking my library for it now.
