Off Topic: What Do I Listen To When Reading Romance?

A trio of artists who get the vibe right

I’m not a “Music Person.” I don’t mean to say I don’t like music, or that music isn’t an important part of my life, but if you ask me to define terms for what genres I like or articulate subtle aspects of audio, I’m not your girl. I have Music Person friends, people for whom their hearing is a primary sense and not a passive one, which is very impressive and a trait I do not share.

The place I have the most Opinions about music is for reading and writing, to set a mood and a tone, so I thought I’d share with you the three artists I listen to most when reading romance, as well as the playlist I made for the book I’m working on writing right now (a road trip romance through the Western US about lies, when plans fall apart, money laundering, and blue dogs). Points to anyone who can articulate exactly what vibe that writing playlist has, because it’s definitely got a unified one but I do not have the vocabulary to communicate it in words.
