Feminine rage, showing hole as a sign of loyalty, and other musings
Ok, first of all, my “could mushroom/fungi-inspired hair be hot” poll ended in a dead tie, which is… not helpful but don’t worry, “nay” voters… ye of little faith! How dare! I will get busy proving you wrong, unless I get distracted by another idea in the meantime, but I will never forget this disrespect.
This month, I’m sharing some excerpts from my two latest WIPs (one’s a paranormal romance about curses, one’s the alien fated mate book I’m playing around with that might involve stylized-mushroom hair for you nonbelievers), talking about some of my favorite murderous heroines in romance, catching you up on some recent KU reads, and ranting about impractical contemporary characters. Middle photo below is from a recent trip to the LA Renn Faire. I shot a bow (badly), threw axes (better), and ate delicious food. Subscribe to see my husband’s insanely detailed papier-mâché dragon hat and the reveal of who I romanced for my first full Baldur’s Gate 3 run (though the latter probably won’t be much of a surprise).
In between reading, writing, and reviewing romances, most of my life as of late has been dedicated to finding a job. Ideally a remote job in communications/writing or education admin for creatives (part or full time!), but at this point I can’t afford to be too picky. Any leads on that would be welcome! My seasonal gig with CBS will be ending in about a month and a half, and I’ll really be up shit’s creek without a paddle at that point.
